Ubuntu, uncle. How could one of us be happy if all the others were sad?

So, today I had a little revelation...
I'm talking with my friend, a good guy, we were talking about Linux, Open Source, a great conversation...
So, that guy spoke about the Software are a Idea and the Idea could be shared...

So, for today, I will tell you a little history.

"An anthropologist who studied the habits and customs of an African tribe proposed a harmless prank to children. A pot filled with candy and goodies and put it under a tree. Then he called the children and that when combined gave the signal, they rushed to the pot and that came first was with all the sweets that were inside.

The children were positioned at the starting line he drew on the ground and waited for the combined signal. When given the signal, all the children joined hands and started running toward the tree where the pot was. When they arrived, distributed sweets among themselves and began to eat them.

The anthropologist went to the children and asked why they had gone all together when the first come, would get everything in the pot and thus eat more sweets.

The children answered: "Ubuntu, uncle. How could one of us be happy if all the others were sad?"

He was baffled! Months and months of work, studying the tribe, and did not understand, really, the essence of that people. That would never have proposed the competition ...

Ubuntu means "I am who I am because all of us!"

Warning: because WE, not by what we have ... »
